Step 1
Boil rice sevai in water for approximately 5 minutes, then add salt & boil again till the sevai is cooked well & has become thick in size. Boil for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Next, put the sevai in a strainer & wash it under tap water . Keep it aside to drain out the water.
Step 3
Keep a medium sized kadai on the gas flame, put oil in it sputter mustard seeds, add finely cut onions & saute till the onions are translucent, put slit green chillies & curry leaves & saute again.
Step 4
Add the cooked sevai & saute for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Finally, add the shredded coconut & saute for a minute. Sevai upma is ready. Serve it hot.

You can also put fried raisins & cashews as per your liking.
