Add accordingly to cook the dal

Step 1
In a dry mixer jar, add- coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper corns and grind them into a fine powder. Next add the garlic cloves and grind.
Step 2
In a pan add oil. After the oil is heated, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dried red chillies and curry leaves- salute for about 30 seconds.
Step 3
Later, add the ground masala and salute for 1 minute on low flame.
Step 4
Next add the tomatoes and add salt and cook the tomatoes. Continue by adding water and tamarind and let it come to a boil. Finish by serving with coriander leaves. (Tip- Mix rice and cooked toor dal and then add this green chaaru for best taste)
